James Brown: Future Shock...

James Brown: Future Shock...

This video is bought to us by Holy Roller and will be up until the new year. I'm not sure where they dug this up from as most clips available online are no longer than 4 or 5 minutes long.
Future Shock was a live dance show hosted by The Godfather of Soul, James Brown. Its basically had a similar format to Soul Train and the music was performed live by James Brown's band, The JBs. Enjoy!

Edit: The original video i posted was removed by Holy Roller as it was only available until the new year, but i've added a 5min clip so you get to see what it was about. Enjoy!

Just For Laughs...

Oh how i miss The Real McCoy, classic Black British comedy from the likes of Curtis Walker, Eddie Nestor, Robbie Gee, Felix Dexter, Collette Johnson and many more. The show ran from 1990-1995 on the BBC and was a hit! Unlike most successful comedy series run on the BBC, The Real McCoy never made it DVD as the majority of the master tapes were destroyed once the show was decommissioned, all a bit suspect really. So all we have are the clips which have been ripped from homemade VHS copies.

Anyway, here are a few of my favourite clips. Enjoy!

Instrumental...

Easy Mo Bee remix of LL Cool J's 'Pink Cookies' from the 1993 record 14 Shots To The Dome. Enjoy!

Shoezeum...

Life long sneaker fiend Jordan Geller started off selling Nikes on eBay and has know amassed a huge collection of Nikes and below are two videos taking through his warehouse.

Some words from Geller about his creation...

"Ten years ago I started selling shoes on eBay when I stumbled upon a bunch of vintage Nikes at a local swap meet. I emptied out my checking account (a whopping $300) and bought as many pairs as I could afford. I rushed home to my one-bedroom-apartment and listed the shoes on eBay. Week after week, I went back to the swap meet and bought more Nikes. Eventually, the swap meet vendor disappeared, never to be seen or heard from again. So I had to figure out where I was going to get my inventory of Nikes from. Over the years, I have bought and sold hundreds of thousands of Nike Shoes. My business grew from a one-bedroom-apartment, into a two-bedroom-apartment, into a storage locker, into eight storage lockers, and eventually into the warehouse where I am presently. I decided that the best use of my giant warehouse and my profits that I have worked so hard for, was to build the most comprehensive collection of Nike shoes and put them on display for the world to enjoy. So one by one, I built this amazing collection. All of the shoes are in my size (11-12). All of the shoes are deadstock with their original boxes. And all of the shoes have been professionally shrink wrapped for their protection. The shoes have been placed on display with toys and props that are meant to bring the collection to life. The shoes were mainly purchased on eBay and Flightclub, as well as at Footlocker, Sportie LA, Niketown, and Nike Outlets all across the United States. The toys and props were all purchased at the same swap meet where my business got started."

Beat This...

Beat This is a challenge series for producers to make a beat in 10minutes bought to us by the guys at Dont Watch That. This episode sees Swindle crafting a funky beat. A bit of a long video in full, but worth the watch!
