Troy Davis. Amnesty International...

In 1989 Troy Davis was convicted of the murder of a Police Officer in Georgia. In 1991 Davis was sentenced to Death Row in Georgia, where he still awaits execution 19 years on. In 2009 a US Supreme court ordered another an investigation into the evidence and witness statements submitted during the initial trial. In 2010 it was found that none of the evidence proved Davis' innocence and his sentence was upheld even though none of the physical evidence links Davis to the crime and seven of nine witnesses on whose evidence he was convicted have since changed or retracted their statements.
